How my journey to being a midwife began …

The first birth changed me. The second birth changed my life.

Witnessing the birth of my oldest niece was transformative for me, hugely impacting my understanding of myself. This readied me for the life changing path that opened up for me after the birth of my second niece. She came so fast! I caught the baby with the midwife on the phone. I joined my sister at many of her prenatal appointments and experienced true individualized care. Shortly after my second niece was born, my sister’s midwife Michelle Welborn (Welborn Baby Midwifery Services) took me under her wing as her apprentice and I began my journey in midwifery and birth work. I studied and graduated from The National Midwifery Institute. My training included intimate homebirth experience in the San Francisco Bay Area and high volume birth center experience here in Austin.

I have a small homebirth practice, with three to four clients a month. This provides me the opportunity to provide in-depth, un-rushed, individualized care throughout the Austin Area. I love my work.

I am a Certified Professional, Licensed Midwife in the great state of Texas. I have had the great honor of working with hundreds of families in Texas and California. I love what I do and feel so incredibly lucky to be doing this work.

Midwifery care is for everyone.

Midwifery is autonomy in birthing care.
